For those who like it rough
The HD6 is Ibis's longest-travel bike ever, and also their first dedicated mullet bike.
Created on the back of their award-winning Ripmo and HD lines, this impressive beast has more of everything: more travel, more lightness and more of an appetite for aggressive, technical descents.
The custom-tuned suspension layout has been completely redesigned for the HD6, with extra-light high-speed compression and rebound damping. The result is an extremely smooth and efficient system -- exactly what you'd expect from the famous DW-Link -- which dials up the traction. Your rear tyre maintains contact even over the roughest terrain to drive you forward, letting you fly over bumps that would unseat other bikes and riders.
As the frame is compatible with all coil shocks, you can even swap out your rear suspension if you're racing longer events.
Now, what about that mullet wheelset? The first bike to come out of Ibis HQ with mixed wheel sizes, the HD6 runs 29" on the front for optimum stability plus a 27.5" on the rear to give it the kind of nimbleness and agility you want on twisty, chunky trails.
The HD6's frame is made from the highest-grade carbon, optimised for strength, weight, stiffness and performance, and also available in five sizes to suit riders from 5'2" to 6'7".
You'll appreciate the thought that's gone into the design, from the internal cabling with carbon fibre tubes to the increased 34.9mm seat tube diameter to support more robust dropper posts. The lower link bushings are lighter, stiffer and virtually maintenance-free (plus they're backed with free lifetime replacement).
To help keep the paint job mint, the HD6 also sports three frame protectors -- thick rubber on the downtube, a moulded rubber swing-arm protector to dampen chain slap, and linkage protectors stop the rear tyre channeling mud and debris onto the frame.
Whether you're racing or just love rough, techy descents at speed, the Ibis HD6 is the bike for you.
