All the Surly attitude but at a budget price
Have you always yearned for a Surly but couldn't quite stretch your budget to one?
If so, the Preamble was made just for you.
Designed for road and gravel use, this steel bike has been built for simplicity. It's still nimble on the bitumen but burly enough to take on potholes and fireroads.
Surly have equipped the Preamble with everything it needs for light utility duties. You can whack on mud guards and racks, no problem. It'll also take bottle cages so you don't go thirsty.
For riders on the shorter side, the XS and S frames have a dropped top-tube for extra clearance.
And, of course, that chromoly steel frame (the main triangle is double-butted, donchaknow) will keep the ride smooth for many years.
After all, when you own a Surly, you tend to own it for decades.
After buying a brand new bike from overseas, I was very disappointed with the brakes. I took it to my LBS and was told to throw the brakes away and put some others on it. I took it to BMCR, who gave them a quick bleed and adjustment. They went from Formula Frigged to Formula Frigging Awesome. Best…Charles Hatcher
