Bossi Grit Frame Details

The Grit is Bossi's titanium gravel and mixed-terrain frame. Since the moment it appeared on the BMCR lineup, the response has been phenomenal, and it’s not hard to see why.

Fast, responsive and extraordinarily versatile, the Grit is the frame you choose when you want one bike that can genuinely do it all.

The Frame

The best-selling Grit was completely redesigned, and the updates are significant. It's lighter than its predecessor, shedding around 150 grams through the use of 3D-printed 6AL-4V titanium dropouts and a 3D-printed chainstay yoke.

The redesigned headtube now accommodates both fully integrated and conventional cockpit setups, and universal cable entry ports simplify routing regardless of your preferred setup.

It'll take both 700c and 650b wheelsets, and is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets, including SRAM Transmission via the Universal Derailleur Hanger. There are no proprietary parts to worry about, either.

Who rides a Grit

The Grit attracts a particular kind of rider: someone who wants serious performance across more than one surface.

A lot of our Adelaide customers get their Grit built up with two wheelsets: a gravel setup and a road setup, so they can swap between surfaces without faffing about with changing tyres (not to mention the mess of tubeless sealant).

It's an especially popular choice for road cyclists who are making the transition to gravel but don't want to compromise on either discipline.

The Grit's versatility goes further than that, though.

Bikepackers love it, and we’ve even hand-built a flat-bar version as a very capable (and head-turning) commuter. Even more impressively, Mark has set an Everesting world record on his Bossi Grit. A bike that can keep up with that kind of kilometre count is doing something right.

While the Grit is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets, we'll almost always steer you toward electronic. The performance difference is significant, and once you've ridden it you won't look back.

Overall, if it involves riding, the Grit can probably handle it.

What You Say

It ran like a dream in the adventure race. I especially appreciated the work you did on the brakes; lots of people complained that theirs weren't working properly and mine were solid all day. There was an awesome downhill and some people had to walk their bikes due to a lack of braking...Ray Scheuboeck
