What you say...
I was a bit sceptical when my fellow club members told me that their shocks were so buttery smooth and like new after they had been serviced. As soon as I got them back, I put them back on my Fisher so that I could hit the trails first thing in the morning. WOW. What a difference it has made. Thank you, thank you and thank you. More Accessories? Oh, why not?
Dedicated to quality hydration, Camelbak bottles are the choice for riders who want bottles which don’t leak, drip, or taste weird. We love the Podium bottles, and have them in regular or Chill versions. Forget about the usual bite-open-bang-shut method: the Podium’s high-flow Jet Valve lets you sip from any direction, and the bottle is squeezable if you need more refreshment or simply wish to aim it at an unsuspecting koala. It can also be shut off via a secondary lock-out so you don't arrive at your destination and find that your backpack is now full of Gatorade. Camelbak bottles are also BPA-free and taste-free. No longer do you have to fear the delightful taint of eau de plastique haunting your ride. Rejoice!
Don't let ESI Grips' meek appearance fool you. Once you try them, you will be a convert. Made from silicone foam, they’re extremely comfortable and give great hand traction regardless of what crappy conditions you're riding through. They’re also super-shock-absorbing, aren't sticky, won't harden or fade, and don't need clamps, glue, or hairspray to install (which is more than we can say about William Shatner these days). If you're tired of having that fun moment where your grip becomes a throttle during a wet or muddy ride, give these babies a go!
Designed and manufactured in the UK, these lights are some of the most advanced, compact, and lightweight beams on the market. Not only are they weatherproof, they also have a fuel gauge indicator and come with a USB-compatible charger. Come in and check them out - these are some serious lights!
Established in 1987 in Prato, Italy, Formula's roots lie in hub and brake manufacturing for trial motorcycles. Forward-thinking led to their first MTB disc brake back in 1993. Formula strives to provide brakes which are light, powerful and (thank you, Lord) easily serviceable. At 270g per end, the R1 is the lightest production brake, and The One has been setting standards in both weight and stopping power for everything from trail to downhill riding.
Because we can't seem to stop stocking Italian stuff (ciao, ciao!), BMCR has FRM. A quality Italian brand, FRM offers a brilliant tubeless system to rival Stan's, plus we've also got the FRM Titanos 29er wheelset: hand-built, tubeless-ready, light, reliable, and cheaper than DT Swiss but of comparable quality.
Their floor pumps are pretty and easy to use (both are important, right?), doing your Schrader and Presta valves without hassle. Their hand pumps come in road or mountain bike versions, and with CO2 cartridges or without. Plus they’ve got nifty concealed flexible hoses so you don’t snap your valve off. Not that we’ve done that before. *cough*
We can’t deny it; two lubes have stolen our hearts. For roadies, ProLink is the go. For mountain bikers, Rock N Roll Gold. Why do we love them? Because they’re thin enough to keep your chain nicely lubricated (and that means it’s quiet; if your bike sounds like there’s a ferret caught in the chain ring, that ain’t good) but aren’t going to attract grime and gnk to gum up your chain and chew out your components. They also clean the chain as they lube it! The ProLink is available in two versions: the regular, and a new longer-lasting version (Voyager). Over winter, we also stock the Rock N Roll Blue, which is designed for wet and muddy conditions. No more wax-based chain-gumming lube for you!
Technologically advanced, orthopaedically designed, and packed with features such as the Ultra Y heel retention system (to keep your foot in a more natural riding position), 3D Power Cage (to protect and stabilise the foot, and, possibly, to battle Gladiators), and the SBS closure system for quick and precise adjustment, Northwave shoes will keep your feet—and your wallet!—happy. As BMCR customer Stuart Heseltine says: “Fantastic heel support, great stiffness in the sole, and I love the customisable fit - I'm never wearing Specialized shoes ever again!"
We’ve got a full range of Planet Bike lights in, from fore to aft. Choose your poison: the super-bright Superflash; its blinding bigger brother, the Superflash Turbo; handlebar-mounted front lights from 5 LEDs to 2 watts; budget-friendly combination front/rear packs; and the nifty Spok lights which have a Velcro strap and can be attached with ease to your helmet/handlebar/cat. (Depending on your cat, of course.)
Pro and BBB Tools
Pro and BBB tools are two long-standing stock lines for BMCR; they’re good quality tools and really well priced. You’re not paying exorbitant prices for a “special” brand name, and you know they’re not going to fall apart. What’s not to love?
Schwalbe tyres are not only durable and puncture-resistant, they're also really well priced. Whether you're needing a super-slick racing tyre, a tough tubeless mountain bike tread, or something unusual like the Insider (just made for indoor trainers), Schwalbe is a great way to go. We keep a good range of Schwalbes in stock, plus we can also special order some of their more out-there stuff (snow spike tyres, anyone?) if required!
Shimano sunnies are lightweight and technologically advanced. We’ve got both regular and photochromatic types in stock (the Equinox is easily our best-selling model; the lenses change with the light conditions!). Most come with replaceable lenses so you can switch them out according to the weather, and all come with a carrying pouch and hard case. Sweet.
Topeak do a huge range of handy bike accessories. We find their pannier racks and bike bags to be great quality at an excellent price—come in and have a look at what we’ve got! (And, if we haven’t got it here, we can probably get it in for you. :-) )
Torq products are just the bee's knees. Easy to eat and easy to digest (no mouthful-of-gum gels or eating-a-block-of-chalk bars here), they also contain no artificial sweeteners, colours, flavours, or preservatives. Torq stuff also come in vegan, vegetarian, and raw-food-arian options. As a bonus, we can also order in mixed boxes of bars or gels with your favourite flavours! (Try the Sundried Banana - it tastes like fruit cake.)
"Who?" You may not have heard of these guys, but they've actually been making suspension for some of the world's biggest brands for years. X-Fusion is their own label—think of it as Home Brand Suspension; same product, different name. We've used this stuff for a while and have been impressed at the quality, particularly considering the price - it's a bargain. Give 'em a chance; you'll never look back!
